2018 was an incredible year, for so many reasons! I love taking a look at the end of the year of some of my “Favorites” in different (random!) categories.

My Favorite Spices of 2018 (It’s a spicy year overall!)

  • Chipotle pepper – Gives a smoky kick!On beans, veggie dishes, soups, dips
  • Fennel seeds – On healthy pizza, in red sauce, soups, stews, dips
  • Red pepper flakes – On everything that is better with some heat
  • Curry – In soups, stews, stir fries, even salads
  • Cayenne pepper – In soups, stir fries, salads, but caution – a little bit goes a long way !
  • Saffron – On rice, in soups, stews, veggie dishes, sweet potatoes…
  • Fenugreek- In veggie dishes, stews (recipes coming soon!)

  • Integrative Medicine – Acupuncture, yoga, herbs, food as medicine, healing ourselves from the inside out, connecting with others, finding purpose and meaning.
  • Fasting – All types! The science is strong, and they really work – Water fasting, intermittent fasting, time-restricted feeding, juicing. Powerful healing tools.
  • Instapots
  • Nordic skiing – (new for me)
  • Mini campers (vintage!)
  • Podcasts
  • Everything microbiome – We can change it with our diet and lifestyle, and it can improve inflammation and most chronic illnesses. Yay for the gut bugs!
