Sweet apples complement tart cranberries in this favorite holiday dish

Ingredients

fresh cranberries
(1 bag)

apples, washed, chopped
If organic, do not need to peel

cups water
1/2
tsp
cinnamon
1/4
cup
pineapple
fresh or frozen

Medjool dates, pitted
Instructions
Blend the dates in the water and add to a cooking pot.
Add all the rest of the ingredients. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes. Stir frequently so does not burn.
Turn off heat when apples are soft and cranberries have burst.
Mash with a potato masher until desired consistency (like applesauce)
Serve warm, room temperature, or cool.
Store in sealed container in refrigerator for up to a few days.
